U.S. Army officials at Fort Polk (now using the name “Fort Johnson”) say that drivers may notice an increase in military vehicles on Highways 171 and 27 in Louisiana, and on Highway 12 which crosses the Sabine River into Texas at Deweyville. Army officials say the heavy vehicle movements began on Monday and will continue through Friday, March 29th. There’s no word on the reason for the increase in movement of the military traffic.
