U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced that an improvement project will soon get underway at Rayburn Park in San Augustine County. In a press release, the Corps didn't say says how much is being spent on the project, but it was noted that funding will come from the $i trillion Infrastructure Package recently implemented in Washington DC. According to the Corps, the contract for the work was awarded to Lakey Construction, Inc., of Lufkin. The Corps says that the project will include replacing utilities at campsites, and rehabilitation or installation of recreational amenities at campsites. Work is scheduled to begin in November, and is expected to be complete in March of 2023.
