Sabine Parish sheriff's deputies blame icy road conditions for a traffic death Monday.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. on state Highway 6 west near Pioneer Road west of Many. State police said Frank Bankston, 78, of Texas, was killed when his Lexis left the road, went down an embankment and hit a tree.
Bankston, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two juvenile passengers, who were restrained, had moderate injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
