BATON ROUGE, La. (July 30, 2026) — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a $1.1 million project to install new pavement striping and rumble strips along numerous highways throughout central Louisiana.
Routes included in the project are:
- Louisiana Highway 8 in Sabine Parish
- Louisiana Highway 120 in Natchitoches Parish
- Louisiana Highway 3191 in Natchitoches Parish
- Louisiana Highway 1146 in Vernon Parish
- U.S. Highway 71 in Grant, Natchitoches and Winn parishes
- Louisiana Highway 29 in Avoyelles Parish
- Louisiana Highway 467 in Vernon Parish
- Louisiana Highway 112 in Rapides Parish
- Louisiana Highway 191 in Sabine Parish
- Louisiana Highway 174 in Natchitoches Parish
- Louisiana Highway 1 in Avoyelles Parish
According to DOTD, work is scheduled to begin August 3, starting on Louisiana Highway 1 and Louisiana Highway 29 in Avoyelles Parish.
Motorists are advised to pay close attention to warning signs and remain alert for workers and equipment in active work zones.
Future work under the project will take place in Grant, Natchitoches, Rapides, Sabine, Vernon and Winn parishes.
