Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard announced shortly before 7:00 on Satirday evening that a major auto accident had occurred about two miles north of Buna on Highway 96.
Havard said the crash occurred when a truck pulled out onto Highway 96. He said one person was flown by helicopter from the scene. However, no other details are known.
The sheriff asked motorists in the area to avoid the accident if possible and to be safe.
