Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Stephanie Davis says that several people were injured in a Halloween night accident in south Jasper County. It happened at about 8:00 Saturday on U.S. Highway 96 near County Road 716, which is about 2 miles north of Evadale, and reportedly involved several children who were trick-or-treating.
Sergeant Davis said according to the investigating trooper, the accident involved three vehicles and a total of sixteen people. Ten were injured; five went to area hospitals by ambulance, while the remaining five went to hospitals in private vehicles.
