The Gulf of Mexico is showing the first sign of life in the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season. The National Hurricane Center in Miami is monitoring a broad area of low pressure over the eastern Gulf of Mexico that is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Fortunately, forecasters say is has only a 10% chance of development and it’s expected to move to the northeast and produce tropical showers across portions of Florida. Elsewhere, no other activity is occurring.
