Gov. Landry creates Fiscal Responsibility Program to monitor state spending

The governor of Louisiana has created a new program to monitor state spending and ensure government efficiency.

On Thursday, Dec. 11, Governor Jeff Landry signed an executive order to create the Fiscal Responsibility Program. It will be led by Fiscal Responsibility Czar Steve Orlando and will contain at least nine members.

Members include:

  • Sen. Valarie Hodges (R)
  • Sen. Blake Miguez (R)
  • Sen. Gerald Boudreaux (D)
  • Sen. Jeremy Stine (R)
  • Rep. Jack McFarland (R)
  • Rep. Adrian Fisher (D)
  • Rep. Phillip Tarver (R)
  • Rep. Stephanie Berault (R)

Hodges, Miguez, Boudreaux, and Stine were appointed by the president of the Senate, while McFarland, Fisher, Tarver, and Berault were appointed by the speaker of the House.
