Georgia-Pacific has announced that the company has donated funds to assist the Building & Trade Programs at both Hemphill and West Sabine High Schools. The exact amount donated was not revealed, but company spokeswoman Yana Ogletree says the money will assist each school in the purchase of tools and supplies for their classroom projects. The Georgia-Pacific Mill in Pineland is the largest employer in Sabine County and, along with Toledo Bend Reservoir, is the main driving force of Sabine County’s economy.
