Freeman apprehended after being spotted by law enforcement in Newton County

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

A routine traffic stop in nearby Newton County has resulted in the arrest of a man who was wanted on numerous charges. Newton County Precinct 1 Constable Colton Havard said he and a deputy from the Newton County Sheriff's Department were on routine patrol shortly after 7:00 on Sunday evening near the area of County Road 4000 when they spotted Christopher Freeman, a man who they knew to be named in a outstanding warrant for injury to a child. Within a short time, the officers had taken Freeman into custody and transported him to the Newton County Jail where he was at last word still being held. Havard said Freeman has allegedly fled from multiple law enforcement agencies within the last few weeks.
