HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A judge has sentenced a former Henderson County police chief to 15 years in prison for selling drugs. April Meadows, 39, of Maybank, was sentenced to 15 years for delivery of a controlled substance and a concurrent two-year sentence for money laundering. Meadows received the sentence Tuesday. She had pleaded guilty without a deal in June. With the open plea, Meadows will not have the right to appeal. Meadows was arrested in 2023 after a tip revealed she and Reserve Officer Jonathan Paul Hutchison had been dealing drugs previously seized by the Payne Springs Police Department. When deputies executed search warrants at the homes of Meadows and Hutchison, controlled substances were found. Hutchison received a 20-year sentence on Aug. 14.
