An Evadale man who had been charged with numerous sex crimes involving young boys has pleaded guilty to charges against him here in Jasper County. Adam Isaacks, 41, who headed up the Evadale Little League Chapter, was accused of taking youth camping and other trips and sexually abusing them during those outings. Isaacks was first arrested in December 2021 after one of the baseball players told his parents what was going on, and Isaacks was later charged with five counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child-Continuous and one count of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact. Issacks appeared in court on Thursday before State District Judge Craig Mixon and after pleading guilty to Sexual Assault of a Child-Continuous under the age of 14, he was sentenced to 40 years in prison to run concurrently with a 40 year sentence that had already been handed down by a Federal Judge. Additionally, Isaacks was sentenced to 20 years in prison to run consecutively following the 40 year federal prison sentence in connection with charge of Indecency with a Child. As part of a plea deal worked out between the prosecution and defense, another charge was dropped. Word is that a plea agreement might also be underway in both Sabine and San Augustine Counties in connection with crimes alleged to have occurred in those counties. The cases here in Jasper County were prosecuted by District Attorney Anne Pickle.
