The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were dispatched to a home in the 1300 block of Young Street shortly after 3:00 on Wednesday afternoon when it was reported that smoke was coming from the garage of the residence.
The firemen arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire which was burning dangerously close to two portable propane tanks.
What sparked the blaze is not known but firemen strongly suspect that a faulty electrical cord may have caused it.
No damage to the home or injuries resulted from the incident and firemen said it was lucky that the fire was discovered before it ended up being a disaster.
