Firefighters respond to another fire on County Road 275

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

For the second time in four days, the East End Fire Department has responded to a fire on County Road 275, which is off of Highway 63 East about 3 miles east of Jasper. The blaze was reported shortly before 3:00 Thursday afternoon. East End Fire Chief Bob Gary was first on scene and reported that it was only about a half-acre in size. The department dealt with their first fire on County Road 275 on Sunday evening and arrived to find that a man was burning trash. He received a citation for violation of the burn ban. There’s no word on what caused the latest fire. Interestingly, when the Jasper County dispatcher toned out the fire department, she said that the caller assured her that her son did not start this particular blaze.
