ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Angelina County firetrucks lined a bridge along Highway 7 Monday, honoring a Jasper County sheriff’s deputy being transported home after a fatal car wreck. Several vehicles and personnel with the Angelina County Volunteer Fire Department participated in the line up as the body of Lesley Wade, 24, was transported from Tyler. Wade, of Zavalla, died Friday after striking the back of a box trailer being towed by a truck tractor on U.S. Highway 69, south of Huntington, according to a DPS report and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. According to DPS, the truck was entering U.S. 69 from FM 1818 and the trailer was stretched across both southbound lanes of U.S. 69 due to the truck yielding to oncoming traffic. Fog was reported to be extremely heavy at the time of the crash. Two children in the back of Wade’s vehicle survived with possible non-life-threatening injuries.
