The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were dispatched to the Prospect Point Apartments at 215 Premier Drive shortly after 9:00 on Friday morning when it was reported that a pick up truck was on fire. However, the fire was simply too far along and there was nothing the firefighters could do on their arrival but keep the fire from spreading to an adjacent vehicle.
What caused the fire is unknown, but firemen arrived to find the engine compartment of the late model Dodge truck completely engulfed in flames and the fire quickly spreading.
No injuries resulted from the incident.
