It's not known what caused a fire that destroyed a mobile home just west of Jasper on Wednesday afternoon. The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were dispatched to the location about one mile west of Jasper on Farm to Market Road 2800, shortly before 4:00, when a passing motorist reported the blaze and arrived to find the home completely engulfed in flames and already fallen in. The firefighters kept the fire from spreading and soon had put it out. All indications were that there was no electric service to the home and that no one had been living there for some time. No injuries resulted from the incident.
