The Lake Rayburn Fire department was called out Tuesday morning around 9:30 to respond to a fully engulfed mobile home fire on County Road 227 west of Highway 96. Upon arrival, firefighters found more than half of the structure had already burned to the ground. Firefighters fought the blaze, but it became evident as smoke billowed from the roof that the flames had spread throughout the home. There were no reported injuries at the scene and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The quick response by Lake Rayburn Firefighters along with assistance from both the Jasper and Angelina River Fire Departments kept the blaze from spreading to any additional structures. There’s no word on what may have caused the blaze.
