Fire breaks out in Cougar Country....stopped within minutes of destroying a home

A fire broke out shortly after 4:00 in the Cougar Country Subdivision in South Jasper County after destroying a motor home and a storage building came very close to destroying two nearby homes. Thel volunteers of the Buna Fire Department were first to arrive at the scene and found a motor home and storage building on fire prompting them to immediately call for assistance from the Kirbyville Fire Department. The firemen from Kirbyville soon arrived and the combined departments battled the blaze as they dodged an exploding propane tank and dealt with high temperatures and other hazards as they kept the the blaze from spreading to the nearby structures, and finally bringing the fire under control. What caused the fire is still unknown. No injuries resulted from the incident.
