First responders who rush to the scene of emergencies had to deal with an emergency of their own this afternoon when a fire broke out at the Allegiance EMS station in Woodville.
Firefighters arriving on scene encountered heavy flames on one side of the building on Live Oak Street.
Chief Alan Gartner said they had to use a defensive attack because the fire was roaring when they pulled up shortly after 3 p.m.
Firefighters remained on scene mopping up and making sure there weren't any hot spots.
The chief says they're investigating the cause, but we know thunderstorms with a lot of cloud to ground lightning were rumbling through that area at the time.
Chief Gartner thanks Ivanhoe VFD, Shady Grove VFD, and the Woodville Police Department for their help.
