A woman who Jasper Police have been looking for regarding a recent theft of a pickup truck has been arrested. Last week Lieutenant Garrett Foster asked the public to assist police in locating 29-year-old Cierra Westbrook. She was arrested on Monday, but police say the truck has still not been located.
Foster said the truck was at Advanced Automotive on Highway 96 when Westbrook allegedly went into the business and took the keys off of a pegboard and stole the truck.
Police Chief Gerald Hall said Tuesday that Westbrook told officers where the truck was located, but he said the truck was not there when officers went to look.
The truck is described as a white 2006 Ford F-150 with a busted rear window, and has Texas license plate BT02983.
Meanwhile, Westbrook has now been charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and burglary of a building. Municipal Judge Robert Jackson set her bond at a total of $12,000.00, and she is now in the Jasper County Jail.
Westbrook was out of jail on bond in regards to another vehicle theft when this latest crime occurred. In late April she was arrested for a vehicle theft from a tire shop in the 1800 block of South Wheeler. In that case, she was accused of stealing a 2006 Ford Fusion which was recovered by Jasper Police.
