SHREVEPORT, La. - The National Weather Service-Shreveport has extended the excessive heat warning and heat advisory until at least 8 p.m. Wednesday for the ArkLaTex. When combined with the heat and humidity, heat index values will climb above 105 degrees in most areas, with some locations as high as 115 degrees. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in the air conditioning if possible, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives, neighbors, and pets.
