In Newton County, voters there considered a proposal to create a county wide emergency services district for the purpose of having ambulance service available for all areas. Promoters say the plan as presented did not call for 0 property tax. However, they say the next part of the plan would be the proposed sale tax of 2% to be put before the voters in May of 2025.
