EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Several counties in East Texas have announced burn bans. Check the list here.
- Polk County issued a burn ban on Thursday, March 20.
- Anderson County issued a burn ban on Thursday, March 20 for the unincorporated areas of the county for seven days, unless the county commissioners end it earlier or extend it.
- Harrison County enacted a seven-day burn ban on Thursday, March 20.
- The City of Overton issued a burn ban Thursday, effective for seven days.
- Cass County Judge Travis Ransom issued a burn ban effective March 20.
- Newton County issued a burn ban on March 18, to last until March 25 unless extended by county commissioners.
- Marion County issued a burn ban on March 19, to last until terminated by the Forest Service or the court.
- Morris County issued a burn ban on March 19, to last seven days unless renewed.
- Upshur County issued a burn ban on March 19. The ban applies to all outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of the county for the next 10 days, according to a release. The county said those who violate the ban can face a Class C misdemeanor and up to a $500 fine.
