KJAS news partner KFDM in Beaumont is reporting that a man from Baytown died in an early Tuesday morning auto accident on Highway 73 just west of Taylor Bayou, near Port Arthur.
Police said the crash occurred at 4:35 am when the driver of a 2023 Autocar tractor trailer truck failed to yield right of way at a crossover on Highway 73, just west of the Taylor Bayou Bridge, pulling out into the path of a 2014 Honda.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 31-year-old man from Baytown, died at the scene.
The driver of the Autocar, identified as 26-year-old David Vasquez Jr. of San Juan, was transported to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
