Driver killed in a San Augustine County crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety says a driver was killed in a one-vehicle crash that occurred during on Thursday at 12:00noon in San Augustine County. According to DPS Sergeant Shana Clark, a 2012 GMC Arcadia was northbound on Highway 96 just south of San Augustine when the vehicle went off the highway and hit a fence and then a pine tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, however, the identity has not yet been released pending notification of next-of-kin.
