Police say the driver of a large eighteen wheeled end dump tractor truck accidentally left the yard with the dump bed up on Saturday morning, pulling down power and telephone lines, almost turning the truck on it's side.
Police, firemen and other emergency crews were dispatched to the location at Few Ready Mix Concrete Company at 700 East Milam Street shortly after 11:00, when it was reported the accident had occurred, blocking the street.
Crews from Jasper Towing and Recovery along with workers from the City of Jasper's electrical department arrived within a matter of minutes and immediately went to work uprighting the truck and restringing the broken lines.
No injuries resulted from the incident and it was not the first or last time that similar incidents have occurred in the area where a large amount of truck traffic occurs each day.
The owner of Jasper Towing and Recovery, Leon Clark, all firemen and others who helped with the incident, especially Jasper Firefighter Jack Armstrong and city electrical worker Tracy "Stringbean" Barnett, who he said served above and beyond.
