The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the names of those involved in a double-fatality crash Friday evening on Highway 96 between Buna and Evadale.
DPS Sergeant Shana Clark says a 2023 Hyundai Elantra was driven by 41-year-old Tonya Beall, of Willis. She says Beall crossed over the grassy median onto the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2024 Kia Sportage, driven by 29-year-old Anais Peralta of, Marshall, and occupied by an 8-year-old child.
The driver of the Hyundai, Tonya Beall, and the child in the Kia were both pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia, Anais Peralta, was at last word hospitalized and in very critical condition.
