JASPER COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Three men were charged in connection with a Jasper County burglary after DNA evidence linked them to the 2022 crime.
Jeramia Castleberry, 40, of Jasper, Charles Chaneyworth, 62, of Frankston, and Donald Parrish, 52, of Kirbyville have been charged with burglary of a habitation and engaging in organized criminal activity.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home on County Road 509 in Kirbyville on Oct. 25, 2022 for a burglary. At the time, deputies found the front door kicked in, the home ransacked and copper stripped from the central A/C unit. The sheriff’s office says several other items were missing from the home as well.
The sheriff’s office collected evidence at the scene and sent it in for DNA testing. In July 2025, the sheriff’s office says that testing linked three possible suspects to the case. Investigators executed search warrants to collect DNA on the suspects, which were then found to be a positive match.
Parrish was arrested Sept. 30, and Chaneyworth was arrested Oct. 2. The sheriff’s office said Castleberry is currently serving a 7-year sentence for arson and evading arrest, and he would face the new charges once he serves out his jail time.
