The Newton County Sheriff's Office has arrested a teenage student for threatening comments he made at Deweyville High School, according to information Sheriff Robert Burby. Sheriff Burby says at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies took Julian Alejandro Garcia, 17, into custody on a charge of Terroristic Threat. The sheriff wouldn't describe the nature of the comments, telling our news partner KFDM that the case remains under investigation. The specific charge is: 22.07. Terroristic Threat (c.) cause fear of imminent SBI (MB). The charge is a Class B Misdemeanor. If convicted, Garcia could face up to 180 days in jail and fine of up to $2,000. At last word, Garcia remained in the Newton County Jail on a $4,000 bond.
