BUNA, Texas (KTRE) - The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is “actively investigating” an armed robbery that happened Sunday night at a convenience store.
Around 8:50 p.m. on September 7, deputies said two men entered the Family Dollar located at 34900 Highway 96 S., carrying firearms. The suspects demanded cash from store employees and began removing money from the register, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said the crime was interrupted when a customer entered the store and triggered an audible alarm at the back door, prompting the suspects to run away before authorities could arrive. Officials added that they worked through the night and are still searching for the two men involved. In the pictures provided, one of the suspects is wearing all black clothing with what appears to be a mask, while the other is dressed in white shirt with jeans and also wearing a mask.
