Corrigan-Camden ISD announces superintendent lone finalist

CORRIGAN, Texas (KTRE) - Corrigan-Camden Independent School District has announced lone finalist for superintendent of the district. The board had a specially-called meeting on Monday night, and unanimously selected Brian Aiken. Aiken is currently the Assistant Superintendent at Crockett ISD. Aiken would replace Dr. Keith Brooks, who resigned in Oct. 2023 after serving only seven months as superintendent. Dr. Darrell Myers has been serving as interim superintendent since then. The district said they chose Aiken because he has wide experience in all facets of education, starting off as a special education instructional aide while attending college, teaching at the elementary level, serving as assistant principal and principal at the secondary level, an now, serving as an assistant superintendent at Crockett ISD. Aiken is married and has two school-aged children. He is working on his doctorate through Abilene Christian University. Texas state law requires school districts to implement a 21-day waiting period before offering an official contract to a candidate. The board is expected to vote on Aiken’s contract at their next regularly scheduled meeting on March 18.
