Sheriff Aaron Mitchell reports the arrest of Coby Aron Cooley (age-33) of Many on Friday afternoon, June 19, 2026. Cooley was suspected of selling narcotics in Sabine Parish and has been under investigation for several months.
The Sabine Parish Sheriff Tactical Narcotic Team stopped Cooley for a traffic violation on US Highway 171 north of Converse. After a brief investigation, T.N.T. Agents located and seized almost 4 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 9 suspected fentanyl pills, glass smoking devices, and a digital measuring scale.
Cooley was placed under arrest where he actively resisted deputies.
Cooley was booked into the Sabine Parish Detention Center for:
- Possession with intent to distribute schedule II (Meth),
- Possession of schedule II (Fentanyl),
- Possession of drug paraphernalia,
- Second or subsequent offenses,
- Resisting an officer,
- Speeding.
Bond set at $150,000.
