The mother of three young children who were seriously injured in a November 21st accident in San Augustine County has posted an update on their condition on social media, and fortunately they are improving. The children, ages 5, 9, and 10, were riding with their mother, 27-year-old Dewey Hinote, of Pineland, when an alleged drunk driver hit them head-on. The crash occurred on Highway 83, just west of Farm to Market Road 1751. The other driver, 20-year-old Brandon Rice, of Hemphill, was arrested and charged with four felony counts of Intoxication Assault. The injured children were taken to Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston, and on Tuesday their mother said that they are improving, and she said “Thank you all so much for the continued prayers! My girls are pulling through so good and I’m so thankful to have had an amazing support system through this time. We will get through this one day at a time!”
