BEAUREGARD PARISH, La. (KPLC) - Investigators did not have enough evidence to charge a suspect in a hit-and-run that killed a teen near Longville.

Jodie Cannon, 17, was hit and killed while walking on U.S. 171 near A.D. Hodges Road around 4 a.m. on Feb. 9, Louisiana State Police said.

Troopers investigated numerous leads and identified a suspect, Sgt. Ross Brennan said. They presented the evidence to the Beauregard Parish District Attorney’s Office, which declined to move forward with charges.

The case is currently closed.
