SHREVEPORT, La. -- A Captain Shreve High School student was arrested for battery against a dating partner earlier today, according to a news release Tuesday from Caddo Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.
The was told about the incident after the victim and her mother visited the school this morning. They reported that Gavin Hamilton, 17, had been dating the victim for three months before their recent breakup.
Hamilton is accused of punching the victim as they got off the bus at the school last week.
The SRO found Hamilton and questioned him after informing him of his rights. During the questioning, Hamilton admitted to punching the victim, Whitehorn's news release states.
He was arrested and taken to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked for battery against a dating partner.
