Much needed rainfall has resulted in the dropping of burn bans in Newton, Tyler, Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange Counties. However, burn bans remain in effect in Jasper, Sabine, San Augustine, and Angelina Counties. The Keetch-Byrum Drought Index shows Jasper County to have a countywide average drought and wildfire danger level of 611, with 800 being the maximum level.
