A burn ban was reinstated for both Jasper and Newton County on Monday as dry conditions continue to increase the danger of fire across the region. Most notably areas inn the 600 to 700 range in the north end of Jasper County.
Jasper County Judge Mark Allen announced the ban shortly before noon. Later in the day Newton County Judge Ronnie Cochran also made the same announcement.
