An outbreak of Coronavirus in Burkeville had apparently prompted officials with the Burkeville Independent School District to temporarily cancel classes.
An announcement, posted by High School principal Kevin Day, said the closure was affective at the end of class on Tuesday and that classes would resume on Wednesday September 1st at 7:45 am. Day said no online or home instruction would be available at this time.
The closure of the classes at Burkeville follow the decision in July by the Burkeville Baptist Church to not have religious services following illnesses within the congregation and at least one death that is believed to have resulted from the virus.
