Buna area house raided in relation to the Cristi Ruso case

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

Law enforcement officers on the county, state, and federal level descended upon a home in the Buna area on Thursday morning. Jasper County Chief Deputy Scotty Duncan says officers executed an evidentiary search warrant at a house in the i800 block of County Road m, commonly known in that area as Gum Slough Road, in relation to the case of Cristi Ruso, a Buna woman who has been missing since October of 2O21. Captain Jason McClelland is the lead investigator in the case and he said that information which was recently obtained, combined with previously confirmed information about Christi Ruso's locations on the last day that she was seen, resulted in a search warrant being obtained. The small house, which was in very poor condition with trash strewn about, had a strange message spray-painted on the front which said "Where The Wild Things are". Exactly what that means, or if it is in any way related to Cristi Ruso, is not known. Meanwhile, FBI agents were seen going in and out of the house and all over the property. Additionally, the road was blocked and no vehicles were allowed to pass anywhere near the house. KJAS News will update this story when new information is released.
