There was minor damage and no apparent injuries when two vehicles made contact early Thursday afternoon on a rain-soaked Highway 96 near the Neches River Bridge at Evadale. Rain showers were moving across the entire region throughout the day, and here at KJAS we received just shy of an inch of rain as of late Thursday afternoon. Fortunately, there were no other accidents reported in the area on Thursday despite the rain. This area is forecasted to see rain continuing through Friday, and then a dry New Year's weekend, followed by more rain on Monday.
