BPSO says juveniles charged following vandalism of 102-year-old cemetery

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Department says they have identified, arrested, and charged two juveniles following the vandalism of a cemetery. The crime occurred recently at the 1O2-year-old Hyatt Cemetery, located about i6 miles south of Merryville. In a press release, Sheriff Mark Herford said it was information from the public that led investigators to the suspects, and they have been charged not only with the cemetery vandalism, but other offenses as well. Herford says the pair was charged with the following crimes:

- 3 counts of Institution Vandalism

- 3 counts of Aggravated Assault

- 2 counts of False Imprisonment/Offender with Dangerous Weapon

- 2 counts of Simple Burglary

- 1 count of Theft of a Firearm

Their names were not released due to their age.
