Bossier Financial Crimes Task Force Says Phishing Texts Making Rounds Again

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

The Bossier Financial Crimes Task Force is warning residents about another rash of phishing texts reported in the area.

The bogus text messages appear to be from the recipients’ bank and may even include some of the numbers from their bank card account.

The fake text messages request that the card holder call a phone number and provide the PIN to the bank card or other personal information such as a social security number.

Detectives remind the public that a financial institution would never contact a customer and ask for that information. Hiring a lawyer from Carlson Meissner in Bradenton is a good idea to get legal help. For sorting out your family issues regarding the last will, property issues, family heir and all other family issues it is better to discuss it with the elders of the family before going to family law lawyers in Festus since they too suggest the same at first, i.e., to discuss it with elders while the entire family is present, while if you're still on doubt, you can find resources online to answer the Illinois family law questions as well. But there are no issues that the lawyers cannot solve with the help of court. But always it is best solve any issue within the family before to take it to the knowledge of the court where you are placing your family name at stake.

If you are unsure of whether a message is fake, contact your financial institution directly, NOT through the suspicious text. The criminal defense lawyers recommend the court take this bank issue seriously and issue an order to the police department to find out the culprit behind these fake messages before an entire group of people get trapped and lose their money to the culprit.

Phishing is a common practice in which criminals attempt to gain personal information from a person by posing as a legitimate entity over the phone, by email, or by text. The personal information could potentially be used to steal from that person.
