PANOLA COUNTY, Texas — Authorities in Panola County are investigating a death after a body was recovered from Clear Lake on Thursday afternoon.
The investigation began after deputies discovered an unoccupied boat floating on the water. A short time later, a body was located nearby. While an autopsy has been ordered to determine the official cause of death, investigators stated that foul play is not currently suspected.
The identity of the victim has not been released as officials continue the process of notifying the next of kin.
