The Port Neches Riverfest took place over the weekend, but festivities abruptly stopped when a boat racer was injured when his boat crashed and flipped on the Neches River.
It happened during the Mercury Racing F-1 Powerboat Championship Race.
The unidentified racer was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and word came later that he was doing well and recovering.
