The Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Department has arrested a band teacher who is accused of committing child sex crimes. Deputies say David Smothers is Assistant Band Director at South Beauregard High School, located between Longville and Ragley, and he has been arrested and charged with Indecent Behavior with Juveniles. The department says the investigation is continuing and school officials are cooperating.
