Beaumont Police say one of their officers is undergoing treatment after his gun discharged and struck him in the leg.
Police say it happened shortly before 6:00 Thursday morning when officers were trying to quell a disturbance at The Woodlands Apartments in the 3100 block of West Cardinal Drive.
In a press release, police said “During the encounter, an officer’s weapon discharged, striking him in the leg. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
Meanwhile, police say the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
