The Battleship Texas Foundation has announced that Baytown and Beaumont are no longer under consideration for the permanent home of Battleship Texas. The Foundation posted the announcement on its Facebook page. It didn't give a reason but said the selection process will continue to "determine the best location for the Battleship. The final determination will occur in the coming months." Beaumont City Councilman Mike Getz was a strong supporter of bringing the Battleship Texas to Beaumont.
