Autopsy results released for missing man found dead in Palestine creek

PALESTINE, Texas (KLTV) - Final autopsy results have been released for a man who was reported missing in Palestine then found drowned in a creek. Trenton “Trent” Lee Staneart, 24, of Henderson, was reported missing after leaving the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 20, then his body was found in a creek on Jan. 28. Palestine Police Chief Mark Harcrow said Staneart’s body was found among heavy debris that appeared to have been washed downstream from heavy rain and floodwater, and the preliminary causes of death were said to be hypothermia and drowning. Police have said the autopsy results confirm this, indicating accidental drowning as the cause of death. The toxicology results showed Staneart had used marijuana prior to his death, police said. Authorities have said there is no evidence of foul play in the case.
