Jefferson County deputies have identified and arrested a couple following a recent armed robbery and assault of a convenience store near Nederland. Cole Ethan Schroeder, of Beaumont, and Carley Melana Fowler, of Nederland, both age 20, are charged with Aggravated Robbery with bond set at $75,000.00 each. Additionally, Schroeder was wanted in Galveston County on charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Arrest. Total combined bond on those charges is set at $6,500.00. Investigators say they were living in an RV park near a Citgo convenience store on Highway 69, and they told investigators they robbed the place because they had no money. Security camera video shows Schroeder pointing a rifle at the clerk and then using it to hit the clerk’s head multiple times, resulting in significant injuries.
